NARRATIVE West African religion migrated to the Americas during the slave trade. Today, many Americans still honor the deities of ancient Yoruba origin through music, dance, and ritual in Lucumi, Santeria, Candomble, etc. The heart of many rituals is the kitchen, where food and offerings prepared, including chickens who occasionally escape and cause a little chaos.

The original oil on canvas is lost or stolen. It was last displayed at Uhuru Stylz, 2012 S. 39th St, St. Louis, MO 63110 by store owners Erika and Kelly Wimbley.
